Well it finally happened yesterday, america asked for British soldiers to go help fight in Iraq. Which kinda a stupid thing to do seeing as currently 18,000 British Troops are on fire duty seeing as all of the normal fire fighters are on strike! Plus the weapons inspectors have gone back to Iraq, so nobody should be preparing for war just yet, but Bush wants to finish what his dad started, and destablise an entire region.Oh well it's been a fun yet short life, can't see the wold lasting much longer if Bush and his poodle get there way!

Hi Bush & Blair are itching for a war!! Bush's father made a mess of the previous situation! You don't go in,slap the enemy about, then leave with the same goverment in power.War is good for votes, revenge for September 11th.When Britain wen't to war with Argentina,Thatcher set a secludion zone round The Falkland Islands. The Argentina militry staid outside it.So Thatcher gave the word to sink The Belgrano! Stating to the public, it was sank in the secludion zone. The goverment was at a low at the polls, looking at a defeat at the elections,so the war put them back on top!!The fact the Belgrano was sunk outside the zone did not come out for a long time after the conflict. The ship that sank the Belgrano lost the log book when it returned to Britain!Colin.<*>.

I don't think you can compare the two situations, Argintina where the aggressors and doing nothing would of led to other countrys doing the same to other British colonies. As for war being good for votes, it tends to be the exact opposite in Britain, Churchill lost his election after the war, and Tony isn't doing too well in the popularity polls here. Sure Bush is doing well at home, but to the international community Bush isn't a popular chappie!War with Iraq isn't going to do america any favours.

Hi There.I wasn't comparing the two.I was pointing out Thatcher started the War!Argentina took over the Falklands,i mean it should be theirs! They didn't go in guns blazing, killing the locals.Argentina went along with the excludsion zone. When they would't take the bait,Thatcher gave the order to start the War!Now that Brithish blood was spilled, soldiers gave their lives argintena will never get it back.Which was the intention of our government!Hong Kong was going to the Chinese Gibralta will be given back. That only leaves the Falklands down there. War can be good for governments.Iraq falling suites the west, oil all around!Colin.<*>.

You ask people you live on the Falklands what nationality they are, they will say British, not Argintinan(spelling). Its classed as British soil, so is Girbralta, the Spanish gave us Gilbralta as part of a peace treaty, it belongs to Britain. So if a country invades those Islands, its an act of War, of course Thatcher was going to attack its common sense.

Hi There.War is NEVER good common sence!Britain pillaged most of the world through the empire.Eventualy you have to give back the countries, let them govern themselves. It dosn't sit well with me laying claims to land that is thousands of miles away!!Gibralta should be given back to the Spanish.Iraq is about oil, dont be fooled with other reasons that Saddam has to be deposed. It might sound good,it normaly does. They are trying to do what Bush senior should have done!the military wanted to take Iraq and depose Saddam, but Bush renaged! He will come back to haunt us! I know that the only reason we are going to war is for oil, if it was truely about going after threats of terrorism etc, then saudi arabia would of been a much more logical choice. As for Gibrlatar, those people want to be governed by use not the Spanish and who can blame them, spain Isn't exactly a major power is it. If whats left of the colonies want to be self governed then let them if they don't then they should stick with the common wealth.
