DS9 is currently tied for second in my favorites list with Enterprise, even though I thought DS9 overdid the war angle. My favorite episode is "Blood Oath".
The classic Trek "big three" Klingons in an episode with my second favorite Dax-- a great episode.

DS9 is my second favorite series behind The Next Generation. When it first aired, I kind of lost interest in it though but watching the repeats, it is a pretty good series. I agree with bonja though, they did over do it on the dominion war.
My favorite episode is probably the 2 parter Improbable Cause/To Die is Cast. Gotta a love Garek

DS9 is my favorite series. My favorite episode is either way of the warrior part 2 or What you leave behind part 1. Obviously because of the nice war scenes. (Dont think of me as a death loving junkie ;D)

DS9 in my opinion did overdo the war, but at some point in the Fedarations history, you would have to encounter races that didnt agree with the way they ran things. DS9 to me was dark, but they did a good job on portraying the various conflicts that happened.
Initially, I was put off ST when DS9 aired but after a few years of not watching it, felt drawn back to the vision of Mr Roddenberry and began to enjoy his ongoing visions of a group of people seeing and experiencing new things together.

I was another who initially lost interest in DS9 but then came back to it and enjoyed it, especially when they went to the running storyline format. I had no problem with the war, as I've said before DS9 showed how not everything was rosy with the Federation, and sometimes they found themselves in the corner and having to fight back. It was dark, it was gritty, it was a whole new side to Trek.

I've seen quite a bit of Days of Our Lives now that my wife works during the day, she tapes her soap and watches it at night. The character of John Black on Days reminds me of Garak, someone with a mysterious past that he either chooses not to discuss or just doesn't understand his whole past. Both are well connected to characters on both sides of the legal fence, both are charming but are dangerous if stirred the wrong way.

I loved Garek as a character, so mysterious, loved the secton31 plots as well I too loved garak in DS9. Every time he talked, it made the show more enjoyable with his mischivous attitude, sense of humor. Some of the episodes that featured him that I really love were the "Improbable Cause/Die is cast" two parter and the classic "In the Pale Moonlight."

DS9 had quite a few good secondary characters, Rom, the dabo girl wife, Weyoun and sweet little morn. That was probably the problem with voyager, no interesting secondary characters, just little Borg children.
