I love his Retief and BOLO stories. Even though Baen has released a book containing early Retief stories, I have been hearing a rumor about them reviving the series the same way they revived BOLO in that they will have different sci-fi authors write short stories on this futuristic James Bond character (The Retief stories are a futuristic parody of the U.S. State Department based on Laumer's experience in the U.S. armed and foreign services, and it is very hilarious).

I've never read any of his stories, but my favorite movie of all time-"The Monitors" is based on one of his works.I think it's only been shown once in my area and that was over 10 years ago. Luckily, I saw it listed for a late night showing and thought it looked promising.I guard that tape with my life.

Bonja, you need to head up to your nearest used bookstore to find most of his stories because Laumer has been dead for almost 10 years. His stories are worth it.
