Any fans of The Doctor among us? We had the good fortune some years ago that the local PBS station aired Doctor Who, and at one point reached the end of what it had and started over...from episode one, "An Unearthly Child" and went on from there. I ended up with over 70 tapes of episodes when they got to the end of the available Colin Baker episodes at that point, and was able to see much of the Doctor's history evolve in linear fashion. Though not as scientifically accurate as Trek tries to be, Doctor Who has a great charm and character that still stands up even in the oldest shows.

I'm also a fan of the Doctor.Peter Davison is my favorite. (the Nyssa factor) followed closely by McCoy and the Bakers.
I've never seen any of the Hartnell or Troughton appearances except for the appearances in the multi-Doctor episodes.

My personal fave is Pertwee...didn't care for Troughton much, and Hartnell grows on you when you see his episodes from the start. Colin Baker seemed to incorporate some of Hartnell's tetchy-ness. Gotta admit, though, Nyssa was VERY cute...but then again, I always found Liz Shaw to be quite attractive. Something about the crooked mouth... Also, keep in mind that the first Doctor in "The Five Doctors" is not William Hartnell (who had passed away), but Richard Hurndall, who got the part due to his close resemblance to Hartnell.

Hartnell did appear in "The Three Doctors", though he was confined to a chair because of his illness.
Liz did have her good qualities. There will always be a soft spot in my heart for the BBC casting department.

Hi- I was a Whovian before I was a Trekker, which is odd for someone from the States side of the pond. I had to read "All Creatures Great and Small" in freshman English Literature class and I loved it. The next year Chicago's PBS station aired the series, and I enjoyed the cast, especially Peter's portrayal of Tristan. Also that year, we got cable television, and for some reason, our PBS channel number was different on cable than regular television. I came home on Christmas Eve that year from playing the handbells at second service at church, and I wasn't tired yet, so I was flipping through the channels to see what was on tv. I recognized Peter, but I didn't know that it was Doctor Who until it was over. That is how I became a fan, and I enjoyed every Doctor for a different reason. I may be partial to Peter because he was the one that led me to Doctor Who, but I have enjoyed them all.

Hi There.Another Doc Who fan here.A "lost" episode has been found!I'm waiting for more details on it.Doctor Who made a realy bad mistake to have Bonnie Langford as a Doc Who assistant!!To me that was the nail in the coffin for the Doc Who Series. Sylvester Mackoy wasn't a favourite of mine either, the two together were terrible! There is a mini-album a nd poll in the other scifi and fantasy section.Colin.<*>.
