Okay. So, as I explained in my into post, I am a die hard TOS fan. But, as time goes on, and I get a little older, and a little wiser, (I hope), I am slowly accepting that there is other Trek out there. So, I am watching TNG. A little. The special effects are better, certainly, and the acting is a little more realistic. The storylines are as predictable as Trek is, and the characters are endearing. Worf is great, (MD does VOs for I Am Weasle, if you're interested)... Data has his moments. Not to sure about C. Troi, and don't really like Riker. But here is my question for TNG fans. Why should I like this series? What is it I should look for? What can it offer my TOS persona?

I was born and raised on TOS, but I was one of the ones who took to TNG right off the bat. The show just got better when it stopped trying to be TOS Mark II and concentrated on being it's own entity. Though most of the major characters are reworkings of previous Roddenberry creations (Picard = Pike, Riker = Decker, Troi = Ilia, Data = Questor the Android, Worf = a bit of Isiah from Genesis II), they all took on a life of their own.
